Lawrence Schwenger

Born in Peoria, Illinois, April 8, 1944; Admitted to Illinois Bar in 1970; Education - Loyola University and Bradley University (B.S. 1966); St. Louis University (J.D. 1969);
Biography:
Mr. Schwenger has been active in the Alumni Associations of Bradley University and St. Louis University. He is a past Chairman of the Heart of Illinois Epilepsy Foundation; a PARC volunteer and a Special Olympics volunteer. He has been an active member of the Peoria County, Illinois and American Bar Associations. He also is a 40-year member of the Spalding Council #427 Knights of Columbus and the advocate for said Council for many years. Mr. Schwenger is a member of the Peoria County and Illinois State Bar Associations.
He writes a sizeable amount of title insurance per year as an agent for Attorneys' Title Guaranty Fund, Inc. and handles numerous escrow real estate and loan closings each year for local and national lenders. He also handles numerous construction loan escrows each year. Over the years, he has represented numerous banks and other financial institutions on mortgage foreclosures, workouts, and related areas of law. He has represented both buyer and seller in both residential and commercial real estate transactions for over 40 years.
In addition to real estate, he had a sizeable practice in estate planning and the probate of estates.
Mr. Schwenger has been a lecturer for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the Peoria County Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Committee, and for The Peoples Law School, co-sponsored by the Peoria County Bar Association and Illinois Central College. He has also taught courses in real estate law and mortgage law for the Illinois Savings and Loan League. He was named as a Leading Lawyer in Illinois in the practice of real estate.
